Security & Privacy

Your Data. Our Responsibility.

We built The ArthIQ Daily on a simple belief: your financial data is yours. We design safeguards for it, we don't profit from it, and we're transparent about exactly how it works.

Our Commitment

Your Data Is Not Sold.

Here’s how we actually make money: we build features worth paying for. Parts of The ArthIQ Daily are free because we want the core edition to stay accessible. Paid tiers fund deeper product capabilities; data brokerage does not.

The ArthIQ Daily is not built around advertising or data-brokerage revenue. Our public privacy policy describes the limited service-provider and legal circumstances where data may be processed or disclosed.

This is a deliberate constraint on how we build this company. As the product evolves, the privacy policy and in-product disclosures need to stay aligned with what the system actually does.

Our Philosophy

Privacy as Architecture, Not Compliance.

Most companies treat privacy as a regulatory exercise. Do the minimum the law requires, check the box, publish a policy no one reads, move on. We think that’s building on the wrong foundation.

The ArthIQ Daily is designed around privacy-preserving product choices and documented controls. When there is an engineering choice between convenience for us and reducing unnecessary data exposure for you, the product is designed to favor less exposure.

The decisions on this page — how we authenticate you, how we handle AI, how we store and isolate your data — follow from that design posture. The public policy and security evidence need to stay aligned as controls are verified.

Authentication

Passwordless Where Supported.

Where supported by your sign-in provider, The ArthIQ Daily can use passkeys or magic links. If a password-based sign-in path is the only available option, that credential remains with the authentication provider. Device biometrics used to unlock a passkey stay on the user's device; The ArthIQ Daily does not collect fingerprints or face scans.

When you connect a bank account, you authenticate directly with your financial institution or account-linking provider. Your banking credentials are not entered into The ArthIQ Daily. The connection is intended to provide read-only access to account balances, transactions, and holdings on your behalf.

If you use AI Import to upload bank statements, those documents are processed by machine in an isolated pipeline and are not reviewed by humans in ordinary processing.

This design reduces password-related risk, though no authentication system removes every security risk. We continue to verify authentication controls against the public policy as the product evolves.

AI Privacy

AI With PII Boundary Controls.

The ArthIQ Daily uses AI to help classify financial context, support imports, and generate educational observations. AI is treated as a controlled boundary, not an open-ended data sink.

The ArthIQ Daily is designed to prevent personally identifiable information from being sent to AI APIs through centralized redaction, local preprocessing, and fail-closed AI payload controls.

Where a file needs machine reading, the system first attempts local text extraction, local OCR, and deterministic parsing. AI is used only on privacy-prepared text when semantic extraction is needed. If the input cannot be made safe, the request is blocked or routed to a searchable-file/manual path.

AI boundary decisions are logged as operational metadata, including whether a payload was redacted or blocked. Those audit records are designed to store counts and control outcomes, not raw prompts or raw PII matches.

We do not rely on provider training policies as the primary privacy control. The ArthIQ Daily is designed to reduce, redact, or block AI payloads before they leave our systems. Provider terms, retention settings, and training restrictions are reviewed as backup safeguards, not as permission to send unnecessary sensitive data.

Every AI-generated insight in the app should be clearly labeled as AI-generated. We are transparent about what AI can and cannot do, and we do not present AI output as financial, investment, tax, insurance, legal, or estate-planning advice.

Data Protection

Data Protected by Scoped Access Controls.

The ArthIQ Daily is designed so authenticated users can access only their own data, with database-level access controls as part of that design.

We use hosted infrastructure and transport protections designed to protect financial information in transit and at rest. The full security posture is being audited before we make more specific public claims.

We do not store bank credentials in The ArthIQ Daily. We collect and retain financial data according to the privacy policy and the controls required to provide the service.

Data Ownership

Your Data. Your Controls.

You can export your financial data at any time in standard formats. It’s your data. Taking it with you should be effortless.

When you delete your account, we begin the deletion process described in the privacy policy, subject to legal, billing, security, backup, and operational retention requirements.

We aim to collect the data needed to run the service and explain the retention rules clearly. The less unnecessary data we hold, the less there is to protect.

Questions About How We Handle Your Data?

We'd rather answer them than hide behind a legal document. Reach us at privacy@thearthiqdaily.com.
